March was the last time we met up with neighbours for our Crecy Creekers Walk. A lot has happened since then, or should I say not a lot has happened since then! Thanks COVID -19.
I asked Dorothy if she might suggest a route today, and John and I met up with Peter and Dorothy at Silchester. Unfortunately no one else was free this time, but hopefully next time. Dorothy also pre booked The Red Lion for lunch, (Church Lane) not ever having been, but some good reports.
I cycle around the walls of Silchester regularly, but have only briefly past through the Silchester site, many years ago. I was pleasantly surprised by the landscape views, and course no traffic to worry about. (Mobile phone snaps today.)

We only saw a handful of others there so pretty much had the place to ourselves. We did a sort of double loop, which meant passing the Alpaca a couple of times, including crossing the field they were in to get to the church. By this time they were much closer to the gate.
The path to the church goes through this field, and someone is looking very interested!![]() |

The sun came out infact it ended up being 23 degrees. The tables are currently set out on the block paved "car park", but work is underway to move them to a lawned garden, including a new outdoor bar. Must go back once that's all done, cos the chips were excellent.
