Just 5 of us out today and a lovely walk to Hambleden.
Since Peter hates crossing water, John dropped Dorothy, Andy and me at The Flower Pot at Aston, whilst he and Peter drove through Henley and met us at the car park next to the fields at Hambleden. Perfect timing as we arrived together at the same point.
3 of us walked on the path which winds through the fields at the back of the Flower Pot and over the weir. Dorothy and Andy had not been here before. A quick photo stop.
Once over the weir, we cross over the road and open countryside.
We joined up with Peter and John and walked across the fields.
Once in the village a wee walk around the back and through the churchyard
And a nosey over the wall at "the big house", Hambleden Manor, where autumn crocus were in flower under the trees
An excellent lunch at the Stag and Huntsman, then as we stepped outside, a few spots of rain.
As we approached the end of the final field, a downpour, followed by a rainbow.

| Sandbags at the ready at a cottage next to the pub. (or was this done by the production team of a film crew in the village getting ready for further filming at the pub tomorrow set in 1939?) |
